Sakai System Requirements

Currently, we recommend using the Mozilla Firefox Internet browser for Sakai.  This is due to certain temporary issues that deal with viewing embedded videos.

You can tell which Internet browser you are using by looking at which icon you are clicking when you go online.

then you are using Microsoft’s Internet Explorer
If you are use this icon then you are using Mozilla Firefox

Getting Started in Sakai

To set, or reset, your Sakai password go to the
following link:

You will need your Jag Number and your PAWS Pin to confirm your identity. Once your password has been set, you may log into Sakai using your Jag Number and newly created password via our Sakai portal page:

My Workspace is a private web space for each user. In My Workspace, you have the Message of the Day and My Workspace Information boxes.

Inside My Workspace, you can:

  • Create a profile with a photo that you can link to Facebook and Twitter.
  • View your schedule and announcements for all the sites or courses in which you participate
  • Create your own Schedule
  • View a list of all sites/courses in which you participate
  • Choose how you would like to be notified of new or changed items on sites of which you are a member.

Sakai 101

Sakai 101 is broken into 4 parts to make it easier for you to complete your Sakai training in smaller chunks of time.

You need to take Part 1 first. After that, it’s up to you.

No, Sakai 101 is competency-based. If you can provide evidence that you have met all the competencies of a Sakai 101 Part, the ILC will certify you for that part of the course.

When you are checked off for all Sakai 101 competencies, the ILC will issue you a Certificate and upon request, can verify to your College that you have been certified.

Yes, Sakai 101 will be available online January, 2012.
