Sakai Transition Training

In order to be prepared to support USA faculty through the transition over to Sakai, ILC staff members are going through Sakai training all Summer long. The weekly in-house ILC training is focused on various aspects of Sakai CLE that relate to setting up and managing a course in Sakai. The ILC in-house training covers things such as setting up course shells and the various functions within Sakai (e.g., setting up the gradebook, establishing discussion forums and blogs, and creating various types of assignments and tests, as well as the integration of other technologies into Sakai like Kaltura.

In addition, each ILC staff member is undergoing the rSmart Sakai Certification Course which covers setting up and working with the basics of a course in Sakai such as the email and messaging system, setting up the content, syllabus, and lecture types.

What does this mean for you? It means that there will be a staff of well- trained and certified individuals ready to help you in the process of migrating over to Sakai. In fact, we will be adding a new personalized service here at the ILC where one of our staff members will come to you for a one-hour, individualized session designed to help you get started in Sakai.
